Announcement: The cancellation of Polar Bear Pitching 2020

We, the organizers of Polar Bear Pitching event, regret to inform you that due to rapidly expanding coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, we are forced to cancel this year’s Polar Bear Pitching event.

With continuously tightening restrictions by European authorities (regarding travelling and public gatherings) we do not want to put our guests under threat of long quarantines or, worse, being exposed to the virus. Especially due to the unique nature of our event, by combining people from around the world, ice cold water, hot tubs and sauna, we cannot take any risks with creating grounds for coronavirus contamination.

All tickets will be refunded. We will inform all ticket holders about the refunding details as soon as possible.

Please note, that our side events Virtual Reality Nordic 2020, Race of Drones Oulu 2020 and  Nordic Game Discovery Contest – Oulu will be held as planned, as they do not possess the physically challenging nature of our event.

After a careful risk assessment we were forced to make this call on such a short notice. Obviously, we are devastated by this turn of events, but the safety and health of our guests is our first priority. We want to take responsibility in preventing the epidemic from spreading. We hope you all understand and respect our difficult decision.
